Confined Space Training Brisbane
Entering a confined space environment or relevant classified area means you are entering a zone that is generally unsafe to the public and not usually intended for human occupancy. Confined spaces include, but are not limited to, storage tanks, process vessels, boilers, sewers and sewer pump stations, cargo tanks, duct keels, void spaces and ballast or oil tanks. Acquiring a confined space ticket will enable you to undertake work in these areas as per the Legislative requirements in Australia.

Once you have completed the RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces course and earned your confined space entry permit, you will have the ability to work in a multitude of industry sectors including, but not limited to; mining, building and construction, rail and freight, and natural resources.
Our course is designed to help participants recognise potential hazards that may present themselves in confined space environments, how to put control measures in place to make the area safer and how to carry out any work by following the proper regulations. Confined Space Training is suited for those working in operational roles where they are required to:
- enter or work in confined spaces
- undertake hazard identification or risk assessment in relation to a confined space
- implement risk control measures
- issue entry permits
- act as a standby person or communicate with workers in a confined space
- monitor conditions while work is being carried out
- buy equipment for confined space work
- design or lay out a work area that includes a confined space
Renewal: Every two (2) years or as stipulated by your employer
ASTRA use various assessment methods and techniques, including skill and knowledge assessments as an essential step to ensure you progress through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying and training with ASTRA, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and in some cases through recognition of prior learning.
ASTRA requires all students to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). As a minimum requirement, any personnel attending an ASTRA course and training facility must wear enclosed, lace-up shoes with a non-slip sole. Further guidance and support on PPE will be provided at enrolment.
Before commencing any course, ASTRA recommends you consult your doctor to determine any limitations with conducting practical demonstrations if applicable. There may be multiple tasks that require manual handling of materials and equipment and general exposure to accessing and working on structures at height.
