Remove Non-Friable Asbestos

B-Class Licence for removal of non-friable asbestos

Did you know it is a legal requirement for anyone removing more than 10m² of non-friable asbestos (class B/restricted) to undertake approved training. In most Australian States this training forms part of the license application requirements.
Exposure to asbestos fibres can cause a range of diseases that are in many cases life threatening. Asbestos-related diseases such as Mesothelioma and Asbestosis have already killed thousands of Australians and the number will continue to rise, due to the delay in the onset of symptoms from the first or significant exposure to asbestos fibres. Outside of Australia, the UK is the only country with a higher death toll from asbestos-related diseases.

This course is designed for anyone who is likely to disturb, manage or remove the fabric of a building or structure, which may contain asbestos products. This includes both Tradesman and Owner / Occupiers undertaking DIY renovation work on commerical or domestic properties.

B-Class Asbestos Removal Training

CPCCDE3014A Remove non-friable asbestos provides participants with basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills to undertake the safe removal of non-friable (bonded) asbestos containing material (ACM). A significant proportion of the course is spent on the practical aspects of operating in an environment where asbestos exists. This is completed in a simulated environment where participants gain hands-on experience in the controlled removal and disposal of materials.

The course outlines theory and practical scenarios that are relevant to the workplace or building which contains asbestos products and covers the following key areas:
• Legislation, Code of Practice and recent changes
• Asbestos hazards and its health effects
• Planning and preparing for asbestos removal
• Methods of isolation of the work site
• Carry out asbestos removal
• Decontamination
• Clean up work site
• Qualitative Face fit testing
• Asbestos Awareness
• Contribute to and use documentation in line with regulatory requirements

A significant proportion of the course is spent on the practical aspects of operating in an environment where asbestos exists. This is completed in a simulated
